Kingsthorpe Church of Christ has several activities in which people use their gifts and talents to serve and encourage the church community and the broader community of Kingsthorpe.
Church on Sunday’s
Every Sunday, at 9:30 am, we gather for a relaxed time together to worship the Lord Jesus through a mix of hymns and contemporary songs, then we gather around God’s Word. Where the truth of God’s Word is upheld, and preaching is solid and relevant to the situations that we face in our world today. Sermons are live streamed through our YouTube channel each week and on occasions they are also broadcast through our Facebook page.
God’s Kids
This is a program for Primary Aged Children to join each Sunday during the school term; the kids head out after communion. With teachers and helpers that are passionate about passing on the Good News of Jesus to the next generation.
Bible Study Groups (Online and in Person)
Whether you’ve just become a Christian or have been a Christian for a long time, we have different group/s, happening at different times of the week you can tap into. This including Ladies KYB, meet throughout the week to study God’s Word together and look at what God’s Word is saying to us for our lives today. Some of these groups are in person and some meet on Zoom. Be sure to email or SMS the Church office for details.
Men’s Ministry
Each month, the guys get together for breakfast, which is an excellent time to share and encourage each other. In addition, guest speakers are invited to come and speak along with other activities and events from time to time.
Women’s Ministry
Each month, the ladies get together to encourage each other and do life together. Every event is different from time to time. Different speakers come and visit, or the ladies attend other events that come up.
Open Door
Every Tuesday morning from 9:30 am during the school term, the Church is open for a couple of hours. For anyone to come and have a cuppa and a chat and meet new people. Some even choose to bring a craft that they are working on whilst they are chatting with others.
Prayer Meetings
Our church believes that prayer is the engine room. We meet at 7am every Tuesday to pray for two hours, in person at the church. We also avail ourselves of other opportunities to meet to pray as often as we can, as Prayer Breakfasts, in people’s homes, etc.
Community Care Assistance
Through partnering with Kingsthorpe State School Chaplaincy and staff, we can assist in a practical sense. With providing stationery, hygiene, and food items at Christmas time to assist families in need. Along with others, on an as needed basis in our wider community, through direct referrals from external organisations or direct contact with us. We also visit our local businesses in town and our local hospitals in Toowoomba and Oakey to provide Pastoral care and support and a listening ear to be there for those that need it in the tough times.
